AUMOVIO has secured new business with several autonomous mobility companies for its high-performance computing solutions, radars, and telematics control units during its first year as an independent company. The Auburn Hills, Michigan-based supplier, spun off from Continental’s Automotive group sector in September 2025, also reports multiple head-up display awards from North American vehicle manufacturers and a $110 million expansion of its New Braunfels, Texas radar plant. The company summarized the milestones this week as it marked one year of standalone operations.
Highlights
- New autonomous mobility customers: Business awards from several autonomous mobility companies for high-performance computing, radar, and telematics control units
- $110 million New Braunfels expansion: A 65,000-square-foot addition, including an automated warehouse, will more than double the plant’s production floor space, with completion expected in the first half of 2027
- Head-up display awards: Multiple business awards from North American automakers, with cumulative lifetime sales the company puts in the triple-digit millions
- Regional footprint: More than 13,000 employees in North America, headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan
Autonomous Mobility Business Wins
According to the company, the new autonomous mobility contracts cover high-performance computing solutions, radars, and telematics control units. AUMOVIO frames the wins against the industry’s shift to software-defined vehicles and increasingly centralized architectures, where high-performance computing serves as the foundation for connecting and integrating functions across vehicle domains.
“We’re living through one of the most exciting periods in automotive history,” said Aruna Anand, President and CEO, AUMOVIO, North America. “Advances in software, sensing, connectivity, and intelligent systems are reshaping mobility faster than ever before. At AUMOVIO, we’re proud to help drive that transformation by turning breakthrough technologies into solutions that improve safety, convenience, and everyday life.”
What Is Included in the New Braunfels Expansion?
Within its first year of independent operations, AUMOVIO announced a $110 million expansion of its New Braunfels, Texas facility, which the company describes as its first autonomous-mobility greenfield site in the U.S. The expansion responds to growing demand for AUMOVIO’s radar, the company says.
The 65,000-square-foot addition includes a new automated warehouse and will more than double the plant’s production floor space. Completion is expected in the first half of 2027. The expanded facility will also support AUMOVIO’s partnership with Aurora.
Head-Up Display Awards and UX Portfolio
In its core markets, AUMOVIO reports multiple business awards for its head-up display solutions from vehicle manufacturers in North America, with cumulative lifetime sales the company puts in the triple-digit millions.
The company’s UX business area is developing additional sensing and monitoring technologies, including an under-display camera and non-invasive blood alcohol detection technology. AUMOVIO plans to showcase its UX portfolio at CES 2027.
Auburn Hills Testing Facility Renovation
AUMOVIO also completed a renovation of its Harmon Road facility in Auburn Hills, consolidating its automotive reliability testing operations to serve customers in the region. The company says the investment expands its validation capabilities for next-generation mobility development.
“Our first year as AUMOVIO has been marked by meaningful progress as we continue to strengthen our position in the evolving mobility landscape,” Anand added. “These achievements are a testament to the dedication, expertise, and commitment of our employees, who have been instrumental to our success. As we look ahead, we remain focused on delivering technologies that shape the future of mobility while creating long-term value for our customers, partners, and stakeholders.”
AUMOVIO in North America is headquartered in Auburn Hills and employs more than 13,000 people in the region.
