WeRide’s WRD 3.0 autonomous driving solution has secured its fourth consecutive win at the Second China Urban Intelligent Driving Competition, taking the top spot at the Wuhu round by more than 10 points over second-place Horizon Robotics and third-place XPeng. The competition, hosted by electric-vehicle media platform D1EV, tested a Chery Exeed Sterra ET equipped with the one-stage end-to-end ADAS solution jointly developed by WeRide and Bosch. The result makes WRD 3.0 the only solution in the competition’s history to achieve four straight victories.
Highlights
- WRD 3.0 won the Wuhu round by a margin of more than 10 points over Horizon Robotics and XPeng
- First and only solution to claim four consecutive wins in the D1EV-hosted competition
- System is now in mass production on the Chery Exeed Sterra ES, Sterra ET, and GAC Aion N60
- Chery Exeed EX7 with WRD 3.0 launched April 19, one day before the Wuhu competition round

Competition Context and Technical Foundation
The Second China Urban Intelligent Driving Competition is an evaluation series that benchmarks ADAS systems from leading Chinese suppliers and automakers in live urban conditions. WRD 3.0’s run traces back to its first victory in Taizhou, followed by an undefeated stretch culminating in the April 20 Wuhu result.
Technically, WRD 3.0 pairs WeRide’s proprietary GENESIS general-purpose simulation world model with large-scale L4 fully driverless real-world road data. According to WeRide, this combination lets the company reproduce rare long-tail scenarios at scale, then feed them back into a continuous training, validation, and optimization loop. The company positions this closed-loop pipeline as the basis for scenario generalization in dense urban environments that include street markets and mixed pedestrian-vehicle roads.
Mass Production Footprint
WRD 3.0 is currently in mass production on three vehicle programs: the Chery Exeed Sterra ES, the Sterra ET, and the GAC Aion N60. The all-new Chery Exeed EX7, also fitted with WRD 3.0, officially launched on April 19 — a day ahead of the Wuhu competition round.
The solution builds on the WeRide-Bosch partnership that reached Start of Production in November 2025 under the prior WePilot 3.0 designation. WeRide describes WRD 3.0 as a mass-production-ready engineering system designed around software-hardware decoupling, enabling deployment across pure-vision or multi-sensor fusion hardware, HD-map-based or map-free configurations, and different onboard computing tiers.
Domestic and International Rollout
WeRide plans to continue pre-installing WRD 3.0 and delivering OTA upgrades for brands including GAC Aion, GAC Trumpchi, Hyptec, and Chery Exeed in the domestic Chinese market. International deployment is set to expand through Chery’s export-oriented brands, including Tiggo, Lepas, Omoda, and JAECOO.
The rollout plan aligns with WeRide’s broader strategy of applying L4 technology and data to L2+ production programs. WeRide has separately operated commercial robotaxi services in multiple Chinese cities and is expanding internationally through its partnership with Uber in Abu Dhabi and related deployments.
