Lucid Group has begun rolling out an over-the-air software update that brings hands-free highway driving to the Lucid Gravity SUV across North America. The update delivers Hands-Free Drive Assist through the DreamDrive 2 Pro package, which the company says manages steering, acceleration, and braking on compatible highways while requiring the driver to stay attentive. Alongside the driving features, the rollout adds Google Maps Places integration to Lucid Navigation, adaptive high beams, and new battery and charging insights.

Hands-Free Driving Arrives on DreamDrive 2 Pro
The headline addition is Hands-Free Drive Assist, which Lucid says allows the Gravity to handle steering, acceleration, and braking on compatible highways while the driver keeps watch over the road. The feature is delivered through DreamDrive 2 Pro, an optional package.
Two lane-change behaviors come with it. Hands-Free Lane Change can guide the vehicle into an adjacent lane when the driver activates the turn signal and the system judges the move safe. Automatic Lane Change goes a step further, initiating passing maneuvers to overtake slower traffic. Lucid notes that the hands-free features are not a substitute for attentive driving and should be used only on compatible roads indicated by an in-vehicle alert.
Smarter Navigation Through Google Maps Places
Lucid Navigation now draws on the Google Maps Places API for more contextual search results. According to the company, drivers see richer business details, ratings, photos, and parking information, along with charging-station listings that carry more accurate real-time availability and recent imagery.
Adaptive High Beams for Night Driving
Adaptive Driving Beam, offered on DreamDrive Premium and DreamDrive 2 Pro, is aimed at nighttime visibility. The system maintains high-beam illumination while dynamically adjusting around other vehicles to reduce glare.
New Charging and Battery Insights
Two features address energy management. Advanced Preconditioning View and Predictive Charging Power give drivers more visibility into battery temperature and expected peak charging performance before plugging in.
Lucid says the update applies to Gravity vehicles in North America, with availability in other markets to be communicated later.
