Mobileye, a leader in autonomous driving technology, and Project 3 Mobility (P3), a Croatian innovator in urban mobility, have announced a partnership to develop a groundbreaking urban autonomous mobility service. This collaboration combines Mobileye’s advanced Mobileye Drive™ technology with P3’s unique electric vehicle platform, aiming to transform urban transportation.

P3 plans to launch its first service in Zagreb by 2026, with preliminary testing of Mobileye’s autonomous driving solutions set to commence in the Croatian capital by 2024. The initiative seeks to revolutionize city mobility by offering a safe, seamless, and superior user experience through a novel ecosystem comprising an autonomous electric vehicle, dedicated infrastructure, and a comprehensive mobility service platform.

At the heart of this venture is the creation of a fully autonomous electric vehicle, designed from the ground up for safety and comfort, which will incorporate Mobileye’s Mobileye Drive system. This system, renowned for its integration in vehicles worldwide, features a combination of camera and lidar-radar sensing, REM™ crowdsourced mapping, and a transparent driving policy, all powered by the EyeQ™ system-on-chip, to deliver scalable and adaptable autonomous driving suitable for a wide array of environmental and geographical conditions.

Mobileye’s technology has been a cornerstone in enhancing automotive safety through artificial intelligence and computer vision, with its systems currently integrated into approximately 170 million vehicles globally. The collaboration with P3 not only signifies a step forward in urban mobility solutions but also underscores Mobileye’s commitment to expanding the reach and applicability of its autonomous driving technologies.

P3 has already established agreements with nine cities across the EU, UK, and GCC regions, with plans to expand its urban autonomous service to 30 additional cities. Furthermore, P3 is set to inaugurate a production facility in Croatia for the mass production of its autonomous vehicles, which will be deployed globally.

Prof. Amnon Shashua, CEO of Mobileye, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the shared vision of enhancing urban mobility’s safety and accessibility. Marko Pejković, CEO of P3, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the significance of the collaboration with Mobileye in realizing their vision for urban autonomous mobility.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in the development of Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS), aiming to enhance the urban transit experience by offering more than mere transportation, thereby improving traffic efficiency, safety, and environmental impact. Further details on the project are anticipated in the coming months.
