Plus, a global autonomous driving software leader, has earned recognition as a finalist in the 2024 Edison Awards. The company’s driver-in solution, PlusDrive®, is being honored in the Innovation category for innovative services and solutions. PlusDrive not only assists manufacturers and suppliers in bringing semi-autonomous features to market rapidly but also lays the groundwork for fully autonomous vehicles.

“We purpose-built Plus’s autonomous driving software solutions to transform the driving experience today and into the future,” said Shawn Kerrigan, COO and Co-Founder at Plus. “It’s an honor to be recognized for our best-in-class innovations and for the impact we are driving with our leading OEM, Tier 1, and infrastructure provider partners in the U.S., Europe and Australia. Together, we’re bringing to market next-generation vehicles that will make our world safer and greener.”

Named after Thomas Edison, the Edison Awards™ (dubbed “the Oscars of Innovation”) highlight globally innovative products and business leaders. A top panel of executives, academics, and innovation experts judge nominees on concept, value, delivery, and impact. Past winners include Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, and leaders from Coca-Cola, General Electric, IBM, and NVIDIA.

Plus offers autonomous driving software ranging from driver-in to driver-out products, all built upon the company’s Open Platform for Autonomy (with its Level 4 software as the base). PlusDrive®, the driver-in solution, is currently in commercial use within the U.S. and Europe. Since 2021, PlusDrive-equipped vehicles have carried commercial freight across the United States. Plus has collaborated with IVECO, one of the top five global commercial vehicle makers, to develop PlusDrive®-enabled trucks; these trucks are undergoing public road testing in Germany. An additional pilot program will kick off this year, with DSV hauling commercial freight for dm on PlusDrive-enabled Iveco trucks in Germany. Plus’s Level 4 solution, SuperDrive™, enjoys further deployment with major commercial vehicle OEMs and infrastructure providers around the world.

“A key reason global OEMs and Tier 1s choose Plus as their autonomy partner is that our underlying autonomous driving technology and progressive commercialization approach ease their transition to increasing levels of autonomy. Adopting PlusDrive® today accelerates their product development and provides them with the ability to gradually integrate more automated driving features, across more vehicle models and types as they need, all on the same platform,” added Kerrigan.
