Plus Named to Fast Company’s List of the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies for 2022

Global autonomous trucking technology developer recognized for the impact of its innovative technology and commercialization progress

CUPERTINO, Calif. – Plus, a global autonomous trucking technology company, announced today that it has been named to Fast Company’s prestigious list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2022.

Fast Company’s editors and writers sought out the most groundbreaking businesses across the globe and industries. This year’s list honors businesses that are making the biggest impact on their industries and culture as a whole—ultimately thriving in today’s ever-changing world. These companies are creating the future today with some of the most inspiring accomplishments of the 21st century.

“Autonomous driving technology is poised to transform our society, economy, and environment. It is an honor for Plus to be selected as one of the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies for our work to bring the benefits of autonomous trucking technology to world-class fleets and truck manufacturers today. We are excited to continue our development and partnership with more fleets and OEMs to bring PlusDrive to the world,” said David Liu, Plus CEO and co-founder. “This recognition is also a testament to the talented team of innovators we have assembled at Plus, who are working tirelessly and pushing boundaries on a daily basis to advance the commercialization of autonomous trucks.”

Plus received the honor for its transformational autonomous driving technology and innovative commercialization plan that starts with its driver-in commercial product for semi-trucks, PlusDrive, and evolves to a driverless truck product in the future.

PlusDrive-enabled trucks are already moving goods for the largest commercial shippers in the U.S. and China, making roads safer, saving costs, and reducing carbon emissions. In addition to a contract from Amazon for 1,000 driver-in units of PlusDrive, Plus has pre-orders for over 8,000 units from other shippers, which the company started to deliver to customers in 2021.

Plus offers PlusDrive either retrofitted on existing trucks or integrated at the factory level on new trucks. The company has cultivated industry-leading partnerships with parts suppliers and truck manufacturers. The PlusDrive-enabled trucks with FAW went into series production in China last year, and Plus also recently expanded to European roads through its partnership with Italy-based IVECO to co-develop autonomous trucks.

The Fast Company’s “World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies” distinction builds on other accolades the Plus team and PlusDrive have already received, which include CES 2021 Innovation Award Honoree, 2021 RBR50 Robotics Innovation Award, 2022 Insider’s Rising Stars in the Self-Driving Industry, and 2021 Insider’s 100 People Transforming Business.
