Calterah Launches mmWave Radar SoCs for ADAS

Calterah used its annual Calterah Day showcase to launch two mmWave radar SoCs for ADAS, Kunlun-Pro and Andes-Pro, plus UWB radar development suites for child presence detection and parking assist.

Calterah launched two automotive mmWave radar system-on-chips for advanced driver-assistance systems, Kunlun-Pro and Andes-Pro, with the latter positioned by the company as the world’s first 6T6R ADAS radar SoC capable of a 200-meter detection range for weak targets. Calterah, a Shanghai-based designer of CMOS mmWave radar chips, introduced the products alongside new ultra-wideband (UWB) radar solutions at its annual Calterah Day showcase. The company frames the launch against tightening active-safety requirements, pointing to the 2026 Euro NCAP protocols and China’s draft national regulations for L2 ADAS and automatic emergency braking (AEB).

Highlights

  • The Andes-Pro is what Calterah describes as the world’s first 6T6R ADAS radar SoC, with a stated 200-meter detection range for weak targets and angular resolution of 1° in azimuth and 3° in elevation.
  • The Kunlun-Pro, a 5T4R mmWave radar SoC, adds more than 2.5 dB of SNR and 25% more virtual channels versus existing 4T4R parts, according to the company.
  • The CAL1106AQ UWB SoC is, per Calterah, the world’s first that is both IEEE 802.15.4ab-compliant and FiRa 4.0-certified, built on a 2T4R architecture.
  • Calterah reports cumulative shipments of more than 30 million mmWave chips as of the first quarter of 2026, across models from more than 30 OEMs.

Two Radar SoCs Aimed at Tougher ADAS Requirements

The Kunlun-Pro and Andes-Pro enter a market where automotive radar SoCs face rising expectations for all-condition perception across the full speed range and for every road user. Calterah ties that pressure to the 2026 Euro NCAP protocols and China’s draft national L2 ADAS and AEB regulations.

Kunlun-Pro

The Kunlun-Pro is an automotive 5T4R mmWave radar SoC. Against existing 4T4R parts, the company reports a signal processor (RSP 2.0) that is ten times more powerful, higher DMIPS CPU performance, larger memory, more than 2.5 dB of additional SNR, and 25% more virtual channels. Calterah says the chip tracks weak targets reliably at significantly longer ranges than 4T4R solutions in demanding test scenarios.

Andes-Pro

The Andes-Pro is what Calterah describes as the world’s first 6T6R ADAS radar SoC. The company cites a 200-meter detection range for weak targets and angular resolution of 1° in azimuth and 3° in elevation. Positioned as a lower-cost alternative to 8T8R parts, the SoC can also be scaled into a cascaded 12T12R imaging radar system.

UWB Radar Extends to the Cabin and Parking

Beyond mmWave radar, Calterah detailed UWB radar work centered on the CAL1106AQ, which it calls the world’s first implementation of IEEE 802.15.4ab Sensing. The company describes the chip as the world’s first 2T4R UWB SoC that is both IEEE 802.15.4ab-compliant and FiRa 4.0-certified. Calterah released two development suites built on it — a Child Presence Detection (CPD) suite and a Parking Assist System (PAS) suite. The company credits the chip’s 2T4R architecture, a Radar Leakage Suppression (RLS) module, and the 802.15.4ab Sensing feature with enabling accurate height measurement, detection of nearby stationary objects, and high-speed parking-lot search — tasks it calls difficult for conventional UWB products.

A Widening Shipment Base

The new chips extend a portfolio that, by Calterah’s count, has shipped more than 30 million mmWave chips cumulatively as of the first quarter of 2026, across models from more than 30 OEMs. Founder and CEO Dr. Jiashu Chen said: “Combining mmWave and UWB technologies creates a seamless, safe, and intelligent driving experience—from car locating, unlocking, and assisted driving, to automated parking, car locking, child presence detection (CPD), and intrusion alerts.”
