Pony.ai and ComfortDelGro have opened their autonomous ride service in Singapore’s Punggol district to public booking, letting riders hail a driverless vehicle through ComfortDelGro’s Zig app beginning June 22, 2026. The launch moves the service past an earlier by-invite community ride phase toward a broader, user-facing model, Pony.ai said. Once a booking is confirmed, riders board a Zig-branded vehicle running on Pony.ai’s driverless technology and travel a fixed route through northern Punggol.

From By-Invite Pilot to Public Booking
The consumer-facing app access marks the next stage in a phased rollout that the companies developed with support from local regulators and the Punggol community. It expands availability beyond the earlier by-invite community ride phase, which Pony.ai and ComfortDelGro had run to gather feedback before opening the service more widely. The company’s earlier robotaxi trials in Singapore established the operating footprint now being opened to the general public.
How the Punggol Service Works
Riders book through ComfortDelGro’s Zig app, and once a trip is confirmed they board a Zig-branded vehicle operating on Pony.ai’s driverless technology. The route runs through northern Punggol and is designed to strengthen first- and last-mile connectivity, linking residential areas with key amenities and transport nodes including Punggol Coast Mall, Punggol Coast MRT station, One Punggol, Oasis Terrace and Punggol Plaza.

Scaling the Robotaxi Fleet
The company framed the expanded access as part of its dual-engine growth strategy, which pairs local partnerships with phased commercial deployment across domestic and international markets. Citing growing user demand, expanded service areas and improving operating efficiency, Pony.ai said it is continuing to scale its robotaxi fleet, targeting more than 3,500 robotaxis and operations in more than 20 cities worldwide by the end of 2026.
