HUMAIN and Applied Intuition have formed a strategic collaboration to deploy thousands of autonomous trucks across key Saudi logistics corridors by 2030. The agreement pairs HUMAIN’s sovereign AI infrastructure in the Kingdom with Applied Intuition‘s end-to-end physical AI stack under a long-term commercial partnership. HUMAIN, a PIF company, says the trucking rollout is the first major initiative under its physical AI strategy, which extends AI beyond the data center into physical systems. Later phases are set to introduce robotaxis, ports, mining, manufacturing, agriculture, and construction applications.

Autonomous Trucking Comes First
The initial phase focuses on a unified autonomous logistics network built at national scale, with trucking positioned as the entry point for a broader physical AI program. Applied Intuition and HUMAIN frame freight as a large-scale, tangible application where autonomy can affect productivity, logistics, and economic growth directly.

Which Applied Intuition Technology Underpins the Deployment?
The collaboration draws on Applied Intuition’s end-to-end physical AI stack, including a multi-domain autonomy model the company says scales across trucking, mining, agriculture, and construction. The Self-Driving System (SDS) is the centerpiece, paired with Vehicle OS and supporting vehicle intelligence technologies. According to Applied Intuition, SDS is already deployed on roads in the United States, Europe, and Japan, and is running on Level 4 trucks.

Why Saudi Arabia for Autonomous Freight?
The companies point to the local geography, major freight corridors, and continued investment in logistics infrastructure as conditions that support deployment at scale. Autonomous trucks can operate for longer periods than driver-operated fleets, and Applied Intuition says the technology has the potential to increase freight capacity and fleet utilization while improving road safety and addressing workforce constraints in commercial trucking.
The Kingdom has already hosted commercial autonomy deployments on the passenger side, including driverless ride-hailing service in Riyadh. The trucking program is aimed at a different segment of the market, with the stated goal of making Saudi Arabia a global center for autonomous logistics and a base for regional expansion.
Riyadh Office and Local Hiring
Applied Intuition has established an office in Riyadh as part of what it calls a long-term commitment to the country. The company says the office will create the technical jobs required to launch, operate, and scale autonomous fleets, and that it is building a local team with those capabilities.
