French software developer Exwayz closed a €1 million funding round led by CentraleSupélec Venture, including a grant from France’s i-Lab Innovation Competition under the France 2030 plan. The company develops SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) technology that enables autonomous systems to achieve centimeter-level positioning accuracy without GPS dependency.
The funding supports development of positioning software for autonomous vehicles, delivery robots, and industrial inspection systems operating in GPS-denied environments such as ports, warehouses, and urban areas with signal interference.

LiDAR-Based Positioning Technology
Exwayz SLAM processes onboard 3D data from LiDAR sensors to provide real-time localization for mobile autonomous systems. The technology addresses positioning challenges in environments where GNSS signals are unreliable or unavailable.
Hassan Bouchiba, cofounder and CEO, stated the company aims to make 3D localization accessible to manufacturers of autonomous systems across industry, mobility, logistics, and safety applications.
Funding Allocation and Development Plans
The capital will fund hiring of algorithm specialists, 3D vision engineers, and data scientists to strengthen R&D capabilities. Exwayz plans to enhance the industrial optimization and robustness of its SLAM solution.
Commercial expansion targets include scaling deployments in robotics, mobility, logistics, and industrial inspection through additional partnerships and pilot projects. The company operates within 21st by CentraleSupélec, a deeptech accelerator at Station F.
Cédric Curtil, managing director of CentraleSupélec Venture, noted the investment supports a company serving over 20 clients at its early stage.
Port and Infrastructure Deployments
Swiss scale-up Embotech integrates Exwayz SLAM in autonomous trucks for ports and logistics facilities. The technology provides centimeter-accurate navigation where GPS signals are unreliable.
At the Port of Rotterdam, 30 autonomous trucks using Embotech and Exwayz technology are scheduled for deployment in 2026 for container handling operations.
Giorgio Corbellini, COO of Embotech, confirmed the partnership delivers LiDAR-based localization and mapping capabilities with consistent quality and feature improvements.
Road Infrastructure Mapping
Boston-based Cyvl.ai uses Exwayz SLAM to map tens of thousands of kilometers of roads annually with centimeter-level precision. The company serves over 200 municipalities across the United States.
The technology generates 3D point cloud data for road infrastructure management, enabling predictive maintenance and supporting modernization of road networks.
Daniel Pelaez, CEO of Cyvl.ai, stated Exwayz software powers SLAM pipelines to deliver large-scale, accurate 3D point clouds for municipal solutions.
Executive Advisory Addition
Yves Bonnefont joined Exwayz as non-executive advisor and business angel investor. The École Centrale Paris graduate previously worked at McKinsey and Stellantis, where he founded DS Automobiles and led software and digital transformation initiatives.
