Arbe Robotics Ltd., a global leader in Perception Radar Solutions, has partnered with HiRain Technologies to usher in a new era of automotive safety and autonomy. Their collaboration focuses on the LRR610 4D Imaging Radar, set for mass production by the end of 2024. This cutting-edge technology promises to transform the landscape of intelligent driving solutions.

HiRain, a frontrunner in providing intelligent driving solutions to car manufacturers in China, has recently achieved a critical milestone with the development of a high-performance B-sample of the LRR610. This advancement marks a significant leap toward their goal of mass-producing state-of-the-art 4D Imaging Radars.

The current phase involves an ambitious data collection endeavor, where HiRain aims to gather data over 1 million kilometers using vehicles equipped with the LRR610 Imaging Radars, powered by Arbe’s chipset. This initiative is crucial in fine-tuning the fusion and perception system integral to automotive safety and comfort.

Kobi Marenko, CEO of Arbe, also highlighted the collaborative effort: “HiRain’s progress towards mass production in 2024, in collaboration with Arbe, reinforces our shared commitment to transforming automotive safety through innovative radar technology.”

The LRR610, leveraging Arbe’s chipset with an extensive channel array of 48 Tx and 48 Rx channels, delivers ultra-high-resolution in azimuth and elevation. This results in a dense point cloud, enabling the radar to accurately detect and track multiple objects, aptly termed as a ‘True Imaging’ radar.

Key Features of the LRR610 Imaging Radar include:

  • Wide Field of View: 120° × 30° coverage for comprehensive environment monitoring.
  • Long-Range Detection: Exceeds 350 meters, crucial for early obstacle detection.
