RoboSense Wins Exclusive LiDAR Deal for Apollo Go Robotaxi

RoboSense secured an exclusive deal to supply its EM4 and E1 digital LiDAR suite for Baidu's next-generation Apollo Go robotaxi fleet.

RoboSense has secured an exclusive design win to supply the factory-installed digital LiDAR suite for Baidu’s next-generation Apollo Go robotaxi fleet. The deal pairs two RoboSense sensors to deliver full 360-degree perception for Level 4 autonomous operations.

Highlights

  • Exclusive supplier status: RoboSense will provide the sole factory-installed LiDAR package for Apollo Go’s upcoming robotaxi platform.
  • Dual-sensor architecture: The suite combines the EM4 main LiDAR with the E1 solid-state unit for zero-blind-spot coverage.
  • EM4 distinction: RoboSense describes the EM4 as the only mass-produced thousand-beam-level digital LiDAR currently available.
  • Second major win in days: The Apollo Go deal follows a similar deployment announced with WeRide’s GXR robotaxi earlier this week.

Sensor Suite Details

The integrated package centers on two complementary sensors. The EM4 serves as the primary LiDAR, offering thousand-beam-level resolution. The E1 functions as a blind-spot LiDAR, filling coverage gaps around the vehicle perimeter.

Together, the pairing provides the 360-degree, zero-blind-spot perception required for safe L4 autonomous driving. Both sensors are factory-installed rather than retrofitted, signaling deeper OEM-level integration.

Strategic Significance

Apollo Go ranks among the largest autonomous ride-hailing platforms globally. The exclusive selection validates RoboSense’s automotive-grade reliability for high-volume robotaxi deployments.

The deal also reinforces a pattern. RoboSense announced earlier this week that its EM4 and E1 sensors would equip 2,000 WeRide GXR robotaxis for global deployment. Back-to-back wins with two major robotaxi operators position the “EM4 + E1” combination as an emerging standard in the L4 autonomy sector.
