Marelli, a preeminent technology provider in the automotive industry, in collaboration with Hesai Group, a leader in automotive-grade lidar technology, recently unveiled their joint project that integrates Marelli’s advanced headlamp systems with Hesai’s cutting-edge ATX lidar technology. This partnership aims to enhance vehicle safety by incorporating high-performance lidar into headlamp designs without compromising the vehicle’s aesthetics or aerodynamics, ensuring affordability.

- Enhanced Safety: Integration of the ATX lidar within the headlamp boosts object detection, crucial for ADAS and autonomous driving.
- Seamless Integration: The compact ATX lidar fits neatly within the headlamp, maintaining the vehicle’s design and aerodynamic integrity.
- Improved Performance: The headlamp placement helps keep the lidar sensor clean, ensuring reliable performance in various weather conditions.
The integration features the new ATX lidar, a compact sensor that has been significantly reduced in size by almost 60% compared to its predecessor, making it ideal for embedding in sophisticated headlamp systems. This strategic placement not only maintains the car’s aesthetic appeal but also contributes to cost-efficiency.

Marelli will showcase this innovative headlamp concept with integrated Hesai lidar at the upcoming 2024 Beijing Auto Show from April 25 to May 4.
