Avride and Hyundai Motor Company have teamed up to advance autonomous mobility through a strategic partnership. This collaboration combines Hyundai’s innovative electric vehicle technology, specifically the IONIQ 5, with Avride’s autonomous driving systems to create fully self-driving vehicles. The focus is on launching robotaxi services and exploring future possibilities like autonomous delivery. Building on years of prior collaboration, the partnership aims to expand Avride’s fleet and bring cutting-edge transportation solutions to the market quickly.

Known for its advanced features, the IONIQ 5 is a proven choice—Avride has previously used it alongside Hyundai’s Sonata in autonomous projects. Now, the collaboration is scaling up, with vehicles rolling off the assembly line at HMGMA in Georgia before being equipped with Avride’s autonomous driving technology.
The first real-world application will be robotaxis in Dallas, set to launch later this year on Uber’s platform. This rollout is a testing ground for refining the technology and gathering data to improve performance. Beyond robotaxis, Avride and Hyundai are eyeing autonomous delivery services, tapping into Avride’s robotics expertise to potentially transform last-mile logistics.
The numbers speak to the ambition: Avride plans to grow its fleet to 100 autonomous IONIQ 5 vehicles by 2025, a leap made possible by Hyundai’s manufacturing strength and Avride’s operational know-how. Dmitry Polishchuk, CEO of Avride, emphasized the partnership’s impact: “This new agreement with Hyundai Motor Company will help us scale our operations significantly, with plans to expand our fleet to up to 100 autonomous IONIQ 5’s in 2025, leveraging Hyundai Motor’s IONIQ 5 and our autonomous driving technology.”
