Guident Corp. and XRF have formed a strategic partnership to enhance autonomous vehicle monitoring through extended reality (XR) technologies. The collaboration integrates XRF’s advanced XR software with Guident’s Remote Monitor and Control Center (RMCC) platform, creating an immersive virtual command center for real-time monitoring of autonomous vehicle (AV) fleets.
Key Highlights:
- Partnership combines XRF’s XR software with Guident’s RMCC platform.
- Creates a virtual command center for real-time AV fleet monitoring.
- Uses XR technologies including AR, VR, and MR for enhanced situational awareness.
- 3D digital twin models visualize fixed routes, environments, and each vehicle.
- Platform offers an interactive training mode for emergency response scenarios.
- Integrated solution to launch in North America in the second half of 2024.
This partnership brings together the strengths of both companies, transforming the way AV fleets are monitored. The virtual command center, powered by XR technologies like Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR), provides comprehensive situational awareness. This immersive experience allows for real-time visualization of fleet locations, health metrics, and other key performance indicators (KPIs), all from a remote location.
One of the standout features of this solution is its 3D digital twin model, which accurately reflects the operational design domain, including fixed routes, environments, and each autonomous vehicle in the fleet. This integration allows for remote, immediate, and effective responses to various scenarios, ensuring safety and efficiency in AV operations.
In addition to monitoring, the platform also offers an interactive training mode. This mode provides simulations that allow staff to practice and refine various scenarios, including emergency response skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for any situation. The customizable modules ensure targeted and effective training for all users.
The companies plan to launch this integrated solution in North America in the second half of 2024, bringing a new level of safety, efficiency, and innovation to AV fleet management.
“Our partnership with Guident allows us to introduce an innovative solution for real-time managing of autonomous robots and AV fleets. By integrating XRF software with Guident’s RMCC, fleet operators can monitor and respond to situations more effectively. The interactive training mode offers an exciting way to develop skills and prepare for multiple scenarios. We’re eager to bring this combined solution to market,” said XRF’s CEO Gustavo Medina.
“The partnership between Guident and XRF represents a significant step forward in developing safe, smart, and sustainable transportation solutions for communities. We are excited to launch the XRF solution coupled with Guident’s RMCC software, which extends the monitoring of autonomous robots and vehicles worldwide through extended reality technologies,” said Fabio Tylim, VP of Business Development at Guident Corp.
