WeRide, a global leader in autonomous driving, has launched eight 24-hour autonomous Robotaxi routes in central Guangzhou, China, marking a major milestone in the commercialization of self-driving ride-hailing services. This initiative establishes China’s first 24/7 autonomous ride-hailing network in a Tier 1 city’s core, covering key landmarks and transportation hubs. The move showcases WeRide’s advanced technology and commitment to safe, reliable urban mobility solutions.

This launch builds on WeRide’s history of innovation, including China’s first paid autonomous ride-hailing service in Guangzhou in 2019 and recent approvals for commercial operations in Beijing.
WeRide’s global expansion is accelerating, with a strategic partnership with Uber leading to Robotaxi fleets in Abu Dhabi and planned deployments in Dubai. By 2030, the collaboration aims to launch services in 15 additional cities, including European markets. With over 30 cities in 10 countries under its belt and driverless permits in multiple nations, WeRide continues to lead the autonomous driving industry.
