TIER IV, in collaboration with Analog Devices (ADI), has introduced a new GMSL2-10GbE conversion module designed to enhance the development of autonomous driving systems. This module, part of TIER IV’s Edge.Auto platform, provides seamless connectivity between cameras, sensors, and computing systems, streamlining advanced perception and integration processes in autonomous applications. ADI’s GMSL2 technology is known for its robustness, safety, and compatibility in sensor fusion, benefiting both automotive and industrial automation sectors.

Key Highlights:

  • Enables seamless connectivity between GMSL2 cameras, sensors, and computing systems.
  • Supports TIER IV’s C1 and C2 cameras, with upcoming support for the 8.3MP C3 camera.
  • Facilitates low-latency data transmission over 10GbE with a field-programmable gate array.
  • Includes features such as PTP synchronization, shutter control, and browser-based management.

Product Overview

The GMSL2-10GbE conversion module enhances compatibility between various devices without requiring individual drivers for each sensor, creating a more efficient development environment for autonomous systems. Developed with Analog Devices, this module forms part of TIER IV’s efforts to rapidly advance autonomous driving technology.

The GMSL2 module integrates several essential features, such as data acquisition from up to eight cameras and sensors and the low-latency transfer of uncompressed image data over a 10GbE network. It also supports PTP synchronization with LiDAR and other devices, along with shutter timing control and image timestamping. The user-friendly, browser-based interface further eases settings and operational management.

The module will also be compatible with TIER IV’s upcoming 8.3MP C3 Camera, enhancing the Edge.Auto camera lineup with increased resolution and expanded lens options, catering to a broader spectrum of user requirements.
