The Sunderland Advanced Mobility Shuttle (SAMS) project has named Oxa as the new autonomy provider for its pioneering autonomous transport initiative. The project, launching in early 2025, will use Oxa’s technology to deliver a state-of-the-art Ford E-Transit shuttle, aiming to enhance connectivity, sustainability, and urban mobility in Sunderland.

- Oxa’s Role: Oxa will provide its advanced self-driving software platform and services for the autonomous Ford E-Transit shuttle, bringing expertise from passenger transportation and industrial logistics.
- Project Goals: SAMS seeks to demonstrate how autonomous shuttles can improve urban connectivity while reducing environmental impact, aligning with Sunderland’s smart city vision.
- Collaboration & Support: Led by Sunderland City Council and six consortium partners, the project is supported by the Centre for Connected & Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV), Innovate UK, and Zenzic.
