REE Automotive is set to transform autonomous transportation through a new partnership with a leading global technology company. The non-binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) lays the groundwork for a multi-year agreement to produce thousands of autonomous vehicles, utilizing REE’s advanced software-defined technology. With potential revenue reaching up to $770 million by 2030, this collaboration signals a bold leap forward in mobility solutions.
Key Highlights:
- Partnership with a global tech leader: REE teams up with a major technology company to pioneer autonomous vehicles.
- Significant revenue potential: The deal could yield up to $770 million by 2030.
- Timeline for production: Production is slated to begin in 2027, with a definitive agreement targeted for 2025.
- Advanced technology: Leverages REE’s FMVSS-certified P7 platform and Unified Architecture for real-time decision-making.
- Software-driven innovation: Powered by REE software offers scalability, flexibility, and over-the-air updates.
The MOU outlines plans to develop and produce thousands of autonomous driving vehicles based on REE’s existing P7 platform. Both parties aim to finalize a strategic collaboration agreement by the end of 2025, projecting up to $770 million in revenue over five years. This partnership integrates cutting-edge software-defined electrical architecture and top-tier software technology, positioning the companies to lead the global autonomous transportation market.

REE’s P7 platform, certified under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), ensures regulatory compliance and safety. It incorporates a Unified Architecture (RUA) with an ultra-high-performance System on Chip (SOC), enabling real-time decisions on vehicle dynamics, safety, energy management, redundancy, and autonomy. Production of the first vehicles is expected as early as 2027, supported by the Powered by REE architecture for a swift market entry.
“We are very excited to see our advanced SDV technology reshaping the future of autonomous transportation at scale as it is being integrated into vehicles and applications outside of REE,” said Daniel Barel, CEO and co-founder of REE Automotive. “We believe that using our AD-ready and certified P7 platform and our advanced software technology allow us to bring this program to the market swiftly and with minimal investment offering a truly modular, adaptive and cost-effective autonomous solution.”
The Powered by REE software enables a new generation of scalable, flexible autonomous vehicles capable of over-the-air updates, broadening REE’s reach across global markets and price points. This software-defined approach minimizes hardware complexity, extends vehicle lifespans, and supports remote feature deployment. Operators gain deep data insights for predictive maintenance, potentially boosting uptime and cutting ownership costs.
REE’s zonal architecture, centered on software-defined control, ensures flexibility and future-readiness for emerging mobility needs. The company is also gearing up to launch its flagship P7-C electric truck in mid-2025, aiming to expand by enhancing global OEMs’ vehicle lineups. With a supply chain backed by Motherson Group and ties to a top Detroit automaker, REE can scale production efficiently, reinforcing its leadership in software-defined vehicles. This deal underscores REE’s innovative edge in redefining autonomous transportation.
