Pony.ai, a leading autonomous driving technology company, has initiated public road testing for its seventh-generation Robotaxis in Guangdong Province, China. This advancement marks a crucial step in the company’s mission to achieve mass production and large-scale commercialization of autonomous vehicles by 2025.

Currently deployed in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, these Robotaxis incorporate Pony.ai’s latest autonomous driving technology introduced at the recent Shanghai Auto Show. Leveraging 100% automotive-grade components, the system significantly reduces production costs while enhancing flexibility for integration into diverse vehicle platforms.
The Gen-7 system integrates six mass-production sensor types, ensuring comprehensive situational awareness and robust performance even in challenging weather conditions. Pony.ai’s proprietary sensor cleaning technology and the advanced “PonyWorld” model, using reinforcement learning, enable these vehicles to achieve superior safety standards, exceeding human driving capabilities.
