Outrider is committed to automating yard operations to maximize facility throughput and safety, while reducing workers’ exposure to hazardous manual tasks. With over $250 million in equity capital raised, Outrider aims to launch and scale autonomous yard operations across multiple industries, including retail, eCommerce, automotive, and consumer packaged goods. Since 2019, the company has worked closely with customers, who represent over 20 percent of all yard trucks in North America, to develop and refine its technology.

Byron Knight, President of Koch Disruptive Technologies, stated, “Outrider’s industry-leading technology approach, commitment to safety, and robust IP portfolio make them a standout in autonomous yard operations. We’re thrilled to support their continued growth as they revolutionize supply chain efficiency on a global scale.”

Outrider’s technology, while initially focused on distribution centers, is also suitable for use in intermodal rail and port terminals, paving the way for future applications across freight transportation. The company is positioned to play a significant role in modernizing the global supply chain through its electric-first yard truck platform strategy.

With this new capital, Outrider plans to scale to hundreds of systems with key customers and explore additional use cases, while enhancing the protection of its patented technologies. Bob Hall, Chief Operating Officer at Outrider, noted, “Outrider’s proprietary safety systems; consistent, predictable movement through complex and chaotic environments; and patented robotic-arm-based system for trailer air and electric line connections have allowed us to stay far ahead of any competition.”

Since securing $73 million in Series C funding in 2022, Outrider has made significant progress, including expanding deployments, growing its technical team globally, and releasing AI and deep-learning capabilities to enhance system safety and performance. The company has successfully completed over 100,000 autonomous trailer moves across customer deployments and its test site, further validating its technological advancements and leadership in yard automation.

Outrider remains dedicated to driving the adoption of sustainable freight transportation through zero-emission systems, supporting large enterprises to improve both safety and efficiency within logistics hubs.
