Innoviz Technologies, a premier Tier-1 supplier of automotive-grade LiDAR and perception software, has announced a significant development agreement with a top-five global passenger automotive manufacturer. The company has signed a Statement of Development Work (SoDW) to provide its advanced LiDAR units for the automaker’s Level 3 (L3) highly automated series-production program. This collaboration will equip the manufacturer’s next-generation vehicles with sophisticated autonomous capabilities, targeting a start of production (SOP) in 2027.

The Path to Series Production
Under the new agreement, Innoviz will begin developing customized hardware and software modifications for its InnovizTwo LiDAR starting in Q2 2025. This phase is critical for ensuring the technology integrates seamlessly into the automaker’s vehicle platform. To maintain the project’s timeline, Innoviz will supply several hundred InnovizTwo LiDAR units over the next few months. These units will support a large-scale data collection campaign as both companies work toward a final series production agreement.

This partnership directly supports the development of the OEM’s advanced “eyes-off” driving system, a key feature of L3 autonomous technology.
