Hyundai Mobis announces New Mobis vision at CES 2023

LAS VEGAS and SEOUL, South Korea – Hyundai Mobis, a South Korean mobility company, recently announced its new vision for the future at CES 2023, calling for a shift towards an integrated platform centered on software. The company’s long-term goal and key strategy is to become a Mobility Platform Provider that offers integrated solutions by combining core technologies in electrification, autonomous driving, and connectivity. This new direction was demonstrated in the M.VISION TO, a concept model unveiled by Hyundai Mobis at the event. The M.VISION TO is an electrification-based autonomous vehicle with an integrated solution combining a drive module battery system with pillar modules centered on an e-corner system, autonomous driving sensors, and communication lighting.

The M.VISION TO is a highly flexible mobility solution, offering scalable shapes and sizes to meet a variety of purposes. It also extends freedom of movement through features such as crab driving and zero-turn capabilities with 90-degree rotating wheels. These competitive points make the M.VISION TO suitable for a wide range of applications, including driving in narrow downtown streets or transporting cargo.

In addition to the M.VISION TO, Hyundai Mobis also announced the development of an integrated autonomous driving controller utilizing Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Ride Platforms. This controller will be a key component in implementing all levels of autonomous driving, including level 3 or higher. The company expects the development of this software platform to be completed in the first half of 2023, and anticipates increased orders from global automakers for autonomous driving and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Hyundai Mobis plans to continue strengthening its partnerships in order to secure new technologies for the future of mobility. Recently, the company teamed up with Ottopia, an Israeli start-up, to develop a remote support solution for self-driving, with the aim of targeting the fully autonomous driving market at level 4 or higher.

Overall, Hyundai Mobis’ new vision for the future positions the company as a leader in the rapidly-evolving field of mobility, offering innovative solutions that prioritize the user experience and are tailored to customer needs. The company’s commitment to the development of cutting-edge technologies in electrification, autonomous driving, and connectivity will no doubt be a driving force in shaping the future of transportation.
