Ambarella and Plus have announced the release of PlusVision™, a high-performance, transformer-based AD perception software stack, now available on Ambarella’s CV3-AD AI domain controller family. This collaboration promises to enhance L2+/L3 autonomy with industry-leading power efficiency, catering to Tier-1 suppliers and carmakers.

PlusVision™ combines transformer-based AI with an extensive dataset, resulting in high-performance perception capabilities. Plus has accumulated millions of real-world driving miles in the U.S., Europe, and Australia, enabling its software to produce rich, detailed outputs. This data-driven approach allows OEMs to fine-tune autonomous driving policies across various vehicle models.

The PlusVision™ stack on the mid-range CV3-AD655 SoC is capable of processing 11 cameras simultaneously at 30 frames per second, with a front-camera detection range of over 200 meters. This feature is crucial for high-speed driving conditions. The CV3-AD SoC family provides low power consumption and advanced image processing, ensuring superior AI performance per watt. This efficiency not only extends battery life in electric vehicles but also provides OEMs the flexibility to integrate additional software for differentiated features.
