WeRide, a long-time partner of Hesai, began operations in Abu Dhabi in late 2024 and recently expanded to Dubai. The company aims to extend its robotaxi network to 15 international cities over the next five years, spanning the Middle East and Europe. Each WeRide robotaxi uses four of Hesai’s lidar sensors as its primary long-range lidars.
Pony.ai has secured a strategic agreement with Uber. Its seventh-generation robotaxi fleet, equipped with four of Hesai’s AT series lidars as primary sensors, will launch on Uber’s platform in the Middle East later this year, with further expansion planned.
Momenta, another key partner, is set to introduce autonomous vehicles on Uber’s platform, starting in Europe in early 2026. Hesai supplies Momenta with high-resolution lidar to ensure safe and scalable operations.
According to Yole Group, Hesai dominated the global L4 robotaxi lidar market with a 61% share in 2024. The company supports eight of the top ten robotaxi firms worldwide, including Zoox, Aurora, Baidu Apollo, Didi, Pony.ai, and WeRide.
These partnerships signify a major step in Hesai’s global robotaxi strategy and the industry’s move toward widespread commercial use.
