Hesai’s lidar technology is integrated into various Westwell solutions, including their Q-Trucks and Q-Tractors, which are designed to improve transport efficiency and green carbon reduction. The Q-Trucks are operational at the Felixstowe Port in the UK and support Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (HACTL).
Westwell’s R&D team employs a multi-sensor approach, using Hesai’s XT32 and AT128 lidars to ensure precise operations. The XT32 mid-range lidar offers 5 mm range precision, providing high-quality point clouds and optical systems for accurate vehicle alignment and interactions. These sensors are designed to withstand harsh port conditions, including vibrations, salt corrosion, and frequent stops, reducing failure rates and maintenance costs.
Beyond logistics, Hesai’s lidar technology also empowers industrial robotics. It provides precise distance, speed, and imaging data, essential for accurate positioning, obstacle avoidance, and navigation in complex environments. Hesai lidars are utilized in autonomous delivery robots, forklifts, and lawnmowers.
