WeRide, a global leader in autonomous driving technology, in partnership with Guangzhou Bus Group, has launched the Tianhe BRT autonomous shuttle line in Guangzhou. This innovative service is the first of its kind to operate in the city’s BRT system and at night in a major Chinese city. The shuttle provides a convenient and efficient travel option for nighttime commuters.

- Route Details: The shuttle operates a nine-kilometer loop connecting key stops such as BRT Wenyuan Station, BRT Chebei Station, and BRT Dongpu Town Station.
- Operational Hours: Runs from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., making one nightly trip.
- Payment Options: Accepts Yang Cheng Tong cards, mobile ride codes, and NFC payments.
- Transit Integration: Links with Metro Line 4, Line 13, and other transportation hubs, enhancing city connectivity.

The Tianhe BRT line (BRT Wenyuan – BRT Tangxia Village Loop) bolsters Guangzhou’s public transportation system by connecting the Tianhe and Huangpu districts. By integrating with existing routes such as the BRT Xiayuan – BRT Wenyuan line, the service strengthens the city’s BRT “capillaries” while streamlining nighttime travel.
This launch is a testament to WeRide’s commitment to commercialization and public benefit. It expands Robobus applications and diversifies nighttime travel options while demonstrating the reliability of advanced autonomous technology. Since late 2023, WeRide and Guangzhou Bus Group have rolled out 50 Robobuses across 10 commercial shuttle lines, including the Guangzhou International Bio Island Line 1 and Line 2, Knowledge City Yongjingwan Convenience Line, and Pazhou Loop.
WeRide Robobus now operates in 30 cities worldwide, including Guangzhou, Beijing, and Singapore. Its safe, intelligent, and comfortable services have become a vital part of urban mobility, transforming the public transportation experience for residents globally.
