Ford has announced significant updates to its BlueCruise pricing and access model for hands-free highway driving. These changes include lowering the cost of annual and monthly plans, offering a one-time purchase option, and making it easier for new vehicle owners to activate BlueCruise. Customers now have greater flexibility in how they access the service, which can be tailored to their specific driving needs. Additionally, BlueCruise availability will expand across the 2025 vehicle lineup, making the system accessible to a wider range of Ford drivers.

Key Highlights:

  • New Pricing Structure: BlueCruise plans are now priced at $495 annually and $49.99 monthly, starting October 1, 2024.
  • Flexible Options: Customers can choose between a one-year plan or a one-time purchase of $2,495 at vehicle order.
  • Complimentary Trial: A 90-day trial is available for those who want to test the service before committing to a plan.
  • Wide Vehicle Availability: BlueCruise is available on popular Ford models, including the Explorer, Expedition, F-150, and Mustang Mach-E.

Ford has streamlined the process for activating BlueCruise on new vehicles, offering both a one-year plan included at purchase or as an optional add-on. For select 2025 models, the one-time purchase option allows customers to buy BlueCruise outright, eliminating the need for annual renewals. Customers also benefit from increased flexibility, such as activating the service on a monthly basis for specific trips or seasonal use.

In line with these changes, Ford will continue its 90-day complimentary trial, allowing drivers to experience hands-free driving before committing to a subscription plan. After the trial period, customers can choose between monthly or annual subscriptions, giving them the option to activate BlueCruise only when needed, such as during road trips or holiday travel seasons.

Ford’s BlueCruise service is designed to reduce driver fatigue by providing hands-free driving assistance, making long commutes and road trips more comfortable. The technology has been widely adopted, with more than 492,000 BlueCruise-equipped vehicles currently on the road. To date, drivers in the U.S. and Canada have logged over 244 million miles using BlueCruise, reflecting its growing popularity.
