Cyngn has secured its 21st U.S. patent for enhancing decision-making capabilities in autonomous vehicles (AVs). This achievement marks significant progress for Cyngn in advancing AV technology and further strengthens its intellectual property portfolio. The patent outlines methods that improve AV performance by enabling them to make more adaptive and precise decisions in real-world environments, including integrating traffic rules for safer navigation.
Key Highlights:
- 21st U.S. patent awarded to Cyngn, titled “Adaptive Object-Based Decision-Making System.”
- The new method improves AV performance in real-world environments by enabling adaptive interaction with obstacles.
- Integrates object-specific driving rules with broader traffic regulations to enhance safety and efficiency.
Cyngn Inc. has announced the official granting of U.S. Patent 12,039,867, covering their innovative autonomous vehicle solutions. This patent focuses on enhancing AV performance by allowing them to make informed decisions regarding obstacles and other road elements. The AV system uses sensors to identify nearby objects with precision and decide how to interact with them safely, such as maneuvering around barriers, cyclists, and blind spots near larger vehicles.
In addition, the system integrates specific driving rules with general traffic laws to ensure that AVs not only operate safely but also comply with all legal road requirements. This approach is expected to improve the overall safety and efficiency of AV technology.
Lior Tal, Chairman and CEO of Cyngn, stated: “I am pleased with the impressive advancements and speed of innovation our technology team has demonstrated, as this latest patent brings our total number of U.S. patents to 21. Following the 16 U.S. patents granted in 2023, these patents are the cornerstone of our growth strategy, reflecting our team’s dedication and technical expertise.”
The addition of this patent further strengthens Cyngn’s intellectual property strategy and emphasizes its position within the autonomous vehicle industry. This announcement follows closely on the heels of the issuance of Cyngn’s 20th patent.
Previous patents include adaptive motion compensation, autonomous driving validation, and traffic rule-based decision-making systems, showcasing Cyngn’s dedication to developing modular and flexible AV systems. Cyngn’s commitment to enhancing AV technology is also evident in its DriveMod Kit, which allows industrial vehicles to seamlessly adopt self-driving technology through retrofit or end-of-line installations.
Cyngn remains focused on providing scalable AV solutions that increase productivity for industrial organizations while minimizing costs and enhancing safety.
