MMT® lidar leader opens a new center of excellence in the automotive heartland
SAN JOSE, Calif. – Cepton, Inc., a Silicon Valley innovator and leader in high-performance MMT® lidar solutions, today announced the opening of its new corporate office in Metro Detroit (Troy, MI). The location will serve as Cepton’s automotive hub as the Company continues to expand its active engagements and initiatives with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
Cepton has had a presence in Detroit since its founding in 2016. Renovation of the new facility began in 2021 to accommodate the team’s rapid growth when Cepton first announced its ADAS lidar series production award with OEM General Motors. The new office will house members of Cepton’s senior leadership team as well as product, program management, business development, application engineering, sales, and corporate marketing. Cepton continues to proactively hire for positions in both Detroit as well as Silicon Valley with about twenty current openings in hardware and software engineering, program management, application, safety, quality, and reliability.

Cepton has a six-year history of growth and innovation and boasts the largest ADAS lidar series production award in the industry. It also has secured an ongoing partnership with Koito Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a leading automotive lighting Tier 1 supplier.

The new Detroit office is located at 5445 Corporate Drive, Suite 170 in Troy, MI. In addition to its San Jose headquarters and Detroit office, Cepton also has a presence in Germany, Canada, Japan, India, and China to support a growing global customer base.
