Beep, Inc., a pioneer in autonomous shared mobility, has launched the nation’s first fully autonomous public transportation system, NAVI, in Jacksonville, Florida. Operating under a five-year contract with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), Beep manages the Neighborhood Autonomous Vehicle Innovation (NAVI) service, a cornerstone of JTA’s Ultimate Urban Circulator (U2C) program. This milestone, coupled with a $52.7M funding round co-led by Intel Capital and Blue Lagoon Capital, positions Beep to transform urban mobility.

Beep’s NAVI service operates along Jacksonville’s Bay Street Innovation Corridor, a 3.5-mile route connecting the Central Business Core to the Sports and Entertainment District. The fleet of 14 electric Ford E-Transit vehicles, integrated with Oxa’s automated driving system, is managed through Beep’s AutonomOS™ platform. This AI-driven system ensures safe vehicle supervision, fleet orchestration, and seamless transit integration, enhancing first- and last-mile connectivity in Jacksonville’s low-density urban landscape.
The U2C program aims to revitalize downtown Jacksonville by improving safety, accessibility, and sustainability. JTA CEO Nat Ford emphasized that NAVI advances multi-modal transit, fostering a healthier, more connected city. Beep’s vehicle-agnostic technology supports diverse autonomous platforms, reducing congestion and emissions while serving both urban and rural communities.
With $97.7M in total funding, Beep plans to expand into new markets. Kevin Reid’s appointment as CEO leverages his extensive experience to drive this growth. Beep’s proven track record includes 38 autonomous shuttle deployments across nine states, solidifying its leadership in autonomous public transit.
