Mobileye has launched Surround ADAS, an innovative driver assistance system designed to deliver advanced features such as hands-free driving and enhanced safety to mass-market vehicles at a budget-friendly price. By integrating artificial intelligence and a single System-on-Chip, this technology simplifies system architecture and reduces costs, making premium driving experiences available to more drivers. Surround ADAS addresses industry hurdles like expensive hardware and complex supply chains while aligning with growing consumer demands for automation and stricter safety standards set by regulatory bodies.
This system stands out with its use of up to 11 sensors—including cameras and radars—managed by one electronic control unit (ECU). Mobileye’s advanced software, enriched with AI, processes sensor data into real-time driving decisions.
Key Highlights:
- Hands-free driving on highways and select roads (up to 130 km/h)
- Surround collision avoidance for all-around protection
- Smart parking assistance for easier maneuvering
- Automatic lane changes to enhance driving flow
- Low-speed acceleration control for improved traffic handling

The software-driven design supports over-the-air updates, allowing vehicles to gain new features over time. Automakers can also customize the system via Mobileye’s Driving Experience Platform (DXP), ensuring a tailored yet safe driving experience.
Unlike Mobileye’s high-end SuperVision system, which includes point-to-point navigation and urban driving capabilities, Surround ADAS targets a wider market with essential safety and convenience features. Its first adoption was secured with Volkswagen in March 2025, with vehicles expected to roll out soon. As safety expectations rise and regulations tighten—such as Europe’s push for surround sensing in top-rated vehicles—Surround ADAS is positioned to become a game-changer. Experts predict that by 2030, one in four new cars will feature similar technology, cementing its role in making advanced safety and automation standard across the automotive industry.
